New Hinges for the Book of Nine Scribes

Hello there wonderful backers!

I have been away a bit and focusing on this guy... (there is more text below the picture)

But I managed to get a bunch of leather hinges made for the Book of Nine Scribes.  They are already in the mail.  We went through many prototypes to come up with it, and hopefully that makes the books better for everyone.  Here is a video I made about how to install them...

And now a quick option for the Book of Nine Scribes

So there were obviously some issues with the spine hinge of the Deluxe Book of Nine Scribes.  We've been working on several options, and most weren't any better.  However, here is a prototype that seems to work best.  

THIS IS ONLY A PROTOTYPE.  The final would have the metal aged dark to match the rest of the hinge, and the leather would be much closer to the leather color of the book.  

If you think you would be interested, let me know, ideally in a PM off to the side so I can track it better, or directly to the email [email protected] instead of replying here (although, you can certainly leave comments here).  For those who respond and want it, we will see if we can ship them out to you (free of cost to you) as a replacement for the current hinge.  You would have to replace them yourself, but I think it is a good option compared to the way it is working now.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN MIGHTY BACKERS!!

You heard it here first, essentially, all the core orders are out, and in theory by now people have their stuff or their stuff is arguing with a customs agent somewhere and will be moving on hopefully soon...

So now we're going to be shifting focus to these things...

• Fixing any orders that had issues
• Filling a few of the custom orders with special work that takes longer (I am working on them, I promise)
• Seeing what we can do about The Book of Nine Scribes
• Starting to work on the next KS set of books (estimating early 2024 right now...)

Quality issue resolved and shipping resumed!

I guess I sort of summed it up in the title, but by way of goodness we have resolved the quality issue and resumed shipping  

We aren't quite done with all the orders yet, but we should be by the end of this week!  (Sooooo close)

Having said that...

See?  We're shipping.

Hello Amazing Backers!

If you have received all your rewards and you are happy with them, that is excellent.  

If you have received all your rewards and there are issues, I have logged many of them, and they will be the first thing we focus on once all the rewards go out.  If you haven't contacted me yet, please do so either via Kickstarter DM, or email at [email protected].  

If you have not received all your rewards, there are three possible reasons

REASON 1:  You Live in Canada or the UK:  

We have FINALLY figured out what was going on with UK and Canada customs.  The short version is, if you try to ship a package worth over $X, both UK and Canada have a customs block that won't let you print out the label unless you contact them directly and prearrange it.  I'm not about to try to navigate that nightmare, so instead we've unboxed and unpackaged several of the orders in question, and we're just sending them in multiple boxes.  Obviously this costs more with international shipping being what it is, but it appears to have solved the problem.  Unfortunately while we were trying to figure out what the problem was, we held several UK and Canada orders.   

REASON 2:  You Are Randomly Part of the Quality Repair:  

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we had approximately 40 core books with a significant quality issue that we are basically having to redo from scratch.  There is no rhyme or reason behind who had one of the 40 that got pulled, but regardless, we hope to have all those books replaced in a week or two (although, see Reason 3, below) and get that last shipment out.  

REASON 3:  This Guy:  

Yeah, so apparently I mistranslated one of the summoning spells and this little guy showed up.  Needless to say, I've let myself be a little distracted for the last week (and some time before his imminent arrival) and things slowed down a bit.  We're slowly ramping back up again though, fear not, and we will get this last group of books out as soon as we can.
