Spell Book Talk #4

Hello You Amazing Backers!

Welcome to the fourth in the Spell Book Talk series.  In this quick little one I talk a little about the Yuggoth section... (Again, sadly, the Yuggoth section is not part of the Abridged version)...

Surveys will actually go out early to mid next week...

Hello Awesome Backers!

TLDR:  Surveys Delayed until probably Tuesday

Longer Version:  OK, so, for any of you curious how Kickstarters work...

  • Kickstarter waits two weeks before they lock everything down.  This is probably to give everyone a chance to make sure they like their pledge and can tweak it if necessary.
  • When KS releases the money, the banks still have to play with it for a few days (I didn't realize this) so the money doesn't transfer over immediately.
  • When you pay Backerkit (in theory using the money you got from the KS) it takes them another handful of days for the banks to, I dunno, fondle that money I guess before they actually move it from my account to Backerkit (I did not know this either)
  • THEN after Backerkit gets it, they take approximately two more days to review the surveys before they will allow the surveys to go out (I think is a change from the old way they used to do it).

Now, the good news is I paid Backerkit from my personal funds, so we don't have to wait for the Kickstarter money to move, and the Backerkit people were very nice and agreed to review the survey before the money showed up officially in their account, but that still delays us until... Probably Tuesday of next week.

So, should be a minor inconvenience, but wanted to keep you all informed in case you were wondering...

Thank YOU

-Steve

Surveys will go out in one week!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Oct 09, 2021 at 07:08:55 PM

Hello wonderful backers!

I've received many questions on the side asking when surveys will go out and the answer is a week from today (possibly Friday, but probably Saturday).  This is because the Kickstarter system has a 2-week time period after each KS ends to give people a chance to tweak their pledges and finalize their payment information before anything goes through.  Once that happens, you will see the surveys immediately afterwards.

The surveys will contain, well, survey questions, but also the ability for you to add-on books from any of the previous Kickstarters plus some new stuff.  If you don't see your survey by Saturday 16Oct21, please double check your spam filters and then ping me if you still don't see anything.

Thank you awesome people yet again

Correcting a small typographical error...

Hello wonderful backers!

Soooo, we have gotten several messages asking if we can make that last stretch goal $188,000 because a lot of people seem to really want that map.

No.  We're aren't ret-coning it to $188,000.  That's ridiculous.  Preposterous.  Ludacris.

Making it $175,000 is a much more round number and fits the pattern, duh.

So, we're doing this.

SO, what that means is that the cool map will be available as an add-on, because I want one and it is only fair I should give that opportunity to everyone else as well.  It will end up being about 20" x 30" or so on the same thick linen paper...

Also, for those of you so inclined, the Washington Post just did an article on the book, which you can read at the link below...

Thank you all yet again for participating in such an awesome campaign!!
